2010 – Gold Nuggett Award for Best Affordable Housing under 30 DU per Acre sponsored by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference for Petaluma Avenue Homes, designed by McCamant & Durrett Architects. Click here for more information on the project and award.
2009 - Green Architect Award of The Sierra Nevada Deep Ecology Institute was awarded to McCamant & Durrett Architects. According to the Institute, "M&D's dedication to sustainable building practices & cohousing has been an inspiration worldwide, & the local community has benefited greatly from their commitment to providing this service locally."
2009 - "Top 10 in Fresno" for the Unitarian Universalist Church, Fresno, California. Chosen as one of ten best architectural projects of the decade in Fresno. The reviewer notes that a commitment to sustainability and community, is "masterfully combined in a building that pays equal attention to interior and exterior spaces. The roof lines, materials choices and color palette give the building a contemporary and earthy feel that sets it apart from other churches . . . 2009 - Award of Merit for affordable senior housing for Silver Sage Cohousing in Boulder, Colorado. The competition was sponsored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) to highlight innovative solutions for affordable housing for seniors. The project was completed for Wonderland Hill Development in collaboration with Bryan Bowen Architects. It will be published in the AIA's Design for Aging Review.
2008 - "Best of 50+ Housing Award" from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) for Silver Sage Cohousing, Boulder, Colorado. NAHB 50+ Housing Conference, New Orleans, LA.
2008 - "Silver Energy Value Housing Award" from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) for the design of the most energy-efficient multi-family housing project completed in 2007, for Nevada City Cohousing, International Builder's Show, Orlanda, FL.
2007 - "Regional Leaders' Vision 2020 Award" from the Sierra Business Council awarded to McCamant & Durrett Architects as “visionaries of the Sierra, for their commitment to promoting a unique solution to affordable high quality housing”, Truckee, CA.
2007 - "Best Green Project"
The Unitarian Universalist Church in
Fresno - a MDA project - was named "the
most energy efficient church in the Fresno area and
one of the more efficient projects to come along in a long
time" by
Pacific Gas and Electric Company. UUCF
also won the Gold award for the “Best Green Project” at
the Central Valley Real Estate Awards sponsored by the Fresno Business Journal.
