Charles Durrett is an Author, the leading cohousing Architect in the U.S and homeless activist lives and works in Nevada City, CA. He will be presenting on March 19th @7pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Spokane (318 S. Cedar St.) about the 2nd edition of his book, “A Solution to Homelessness in Your Town.” This book details the creation of a 70-unit homeless project that he designed that now provides safe and affordable housing to homeless veterans in Valley View, CA. The process by which this community was created is applicable in any community that has a need to get homeless citizens off the streets. Durrett will discuss the players and development involved in creating a homeless community such as this in Spokane. His emphasis will also be around community and how to get efficiently organized to help house the homeless in your town.
