Prioritization Workshop
Balancing your community’s wants with its needs
This workshop is where many of the costs that are perceived to be potentially above the budget are prioritized. There will be standard amenities provided in every home; it is in the Prioritization Workshop where we determine what these amenities are or are not (e.g. solar panels, hot tub, green house). Amenities are prioritized based on lifestyle, sustainability, facilitating community and all of the other goals and values of the group.
The workshop process ensures that all members’ input is included and evaluated, at the same time, with all the necessary information on the table, using a very deliberate process. We will have collected the group's requests for potential amenities as they arose during the previous workshops, especially the Private House Workshop. We have also added to the list drawing from our professional judgment and experience. The group will have the opportunity to add additional items for prioritization during the workshop. Ultimately, if the number of amenities exceeds the budget, the highest ranked amenities will be maintained while lower ranked amenities may be omitted to keep the project on budget, or they may be built later (as often happens). In addition, some amenities can be offered as options on a household-by-household basis.
